Job Title: Primary School Business Manager Full time
Contract type: Permanent
Grade: Grade I £25,463     -       £28,221
Hours of work:

37.5 hours a week

8.00am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday

Governors wish to appoint a highly efficient and well organised school business manager who will manage all matters within the school which are supportive to, but do not involve, the teaching function.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a proven track record of excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead and manage teams to support the work of a busy school
  • Has the drive and initiative under pressure to effect changes that will lead to the development of a highly effective office team
  • Has previous experience in office management, ideally in a school environment to manage office systems including the evaluation and analysis of data reports to further school improvement
  • Is able to operate at a strategic level with regards to financial planning, resources, staffing, personnel systems, marketing, site management and to contribute to the future development of the school
  • Is able to oversee and monitor the production and updating of school financial procedures in accordance with financial regulations and audit requirements
  • Has a professional, positive and welcoming disposition in dealing with all stakeholders

Job Title: Finance Officer, Primary School – 30 hours a week

Contract type:

Grade: Grade G £21,074     -       £23,111 pro rata

Governors wish to appoint a well organised and suitably experienced Finance Officer to undertake the financial administration of the school.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to:

  • Control and manage computerised financial systems including processing purchase orders, invoices and payments from WCC accounts using SIMS FMS, perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow, and administer teaching and non-teaching salaries in liaison with HR and Payroll
  • Prepare draft budgets for the approval of the headteacher and governors
  • Monitor expenditure against budget and produce regular financial reports for the headteacher and governors including VAT returns
  • Monitor supply salaries and overtime payments against authorised timesheets
  • Manage contracts for insurance and repairs and maintenance
  • Use the principles of value for money to effect efficiencies in financial management
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of the School Business Manager to create a professional and highly effective office team
  • Undertake other duties as required in a busy school office with a professional, positive and welcoming attitude to all stakeholders

Governors wish to appoint a well organised and suitably experienced Admin Assistant to provide clerical support to the school administrative function and the school management team.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to:

  • Undertake word processing and correspondence, including standard letters, publications and other documents in a timely and efficient manner
  • Input new and updated information on the school’s computerised systems for pupil records and ensure all records are maintained and up to date
  • Deal effectively with emails, telephone calls, post, messages and other admin functions as required .
  • Dealing courteously with parents and visitors to the school in a professional and friendly manner
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of the School Business Manager and the Finance Officer to create a highly effective office team
  • Undertake other duties as required in a busy school office with a professional, positive and welcoming attitude to all stakeholders

Governors wish to appoint a competent and reliable Cook to lead a team of kitchen assistants to run an efficient and highly effective school kitchen.  This post will include working within budget to plan and provide nourishing meals for children and adults as well as meeting the Environmental Health standards.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is passionate about cooking and providing nutritious and well balanced meals
  • Is able to manage staff effectively and efficiently to produce meals in a timetly manner
  • Has experience of ordering, financial management and balancing the books of a busy school kitchen
  • Has high standards of cleanliness to comply with the Environmental Health standards
