Governors wish to appoint a NPA Teaching Assistant to join our hard working team working with a Year 3 pupil with an EHCP from September 2018.  We are looking for a flexible and proactive team player to join our highly committed team.  The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher and the SENDCo to provide inclusive learning opportunities for the child and achieve the outcomes outlined in the EHCP. These will be specific purpose contracts to support the pupil 1:1.  Should the pupil leave the school or the pupil’s EHCP is reduced/removed, the post will cease to exist.

We are ideally looking for a candidate who:

·       Has experience of liaison with OT (Occupational Therapy) and Physio

·       Models excellent communication skills

·       Is patient, nurturing and gentle and can make learning fun

·       Promotes independent thinking skills and encourages responsibility

·       Helps children to apply their learning (e.g supports the transfer of Phonics skills into writing)

·       Practices timely intervention

·       Adopts an inclusive approach to education

Candidates who have also had previous experience of working 1:1 with a child, have Clicker 6/7 software and other educational apps and have delivered speech therapy would be an advantage.

·       Have experience with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) training (preferably to Stage 4)

·       Promote an inclusive approach to education

·       Promote independence

·       Practices timely intervention

·       Has an awareness of strategies to support Emotional Literacy

·       Has experience with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)
