St Mary's

Catholic Primary School

School Information

A very warm welcome to St Mary's Catholic Primary School, and thank you for visiting our website.

Having joined the School in September 2019, I am proud to be the head teacher of St Mary’s School. We are a school that is on a positive journey of improvement and we are all committed to taking our school to new heights. Our improvements were recognised by OFSTED HMI inspectors in February and May 2021 and we are motivated to take the next steps they have recommended.

We are proud of our well-behaved, inquisitive and hard-working children, and as head teacher, I am proud of our talented, dedicated and supportive staff. I also love being part of a learning community that is supported by caring and positive families and governors who make our school such a special place.

As a Catholic primary school we have strong links with our parish church and our values and ethos reflect the Christian faith.

These values guide everything we do. They are one of the first areas children, staff and parents worked on in September 2019 when I joined the school and I invite any prospective parents to view these in the vision and values section of our website.

Over the last two years, along with keeping the school functioning through COVID lockdowns we have consolidated our progress in English, Mathematics, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Special Education Needs (SEND) and keeping children safe. We have also fully embraced a new improvement journey to make our wider curriculum even better.

We aim to continually update the website to reflect our progress and invite any current, new or prospective parents to visit the different sections to find out more about our school.

Within any current COVID guidance we would be delighted to show prospective parents our school.

We welcome children of all or no faith, but in particular those who are practicing Catholics.

I hope you enjoy looking at our website and seeing all we have to offer.
