School to Parent communication

Parent Pay / Website / See Saw:

We will maintain contact with parents through the Parent Pay platform and the school website. We aim to produce a weekly newsletter that is sent to all parents. Additional commination may happen if there is a need to contact individual classes.

Urgent communication with parents may also be sent to parents by text if required.

Teachers in EYFS will communicate with parents through the seesaw app.

All parents and carers will receive a class letter and curriculum map at the start of each term.

Parent Forum:

School routinely holds information sessions, either face to face or via Zoom / Teams to keep parents informed of school improvement activities. All parents and carers are encouraged to join these.

Reports and Parents’ Evenings:

Formal reports are produced at the end of the Summer Term. Parents’ Evenings are held in the autumn and spring Terms. Dates will be published in advance of these meetings.

School policies and improvement plans:

Copies of our policies, procedures and improvement plans can be found on the school website or requested from the School Office.

Parent to School communication

Your child’s teacher has the responsibility for overseeing the academic and pastoral care of your child. It is the teacher to whom you should turn to if you are concerned at any time about your child’s work or social relationships. It is our hope that a constructive relationship will grow between your family and the class Teacher so that everyday problems are dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily.

The main school office is open from 8:00am until 4.30pm, (term time).

The main telephone numbers for the school are: 01249 653469/460231. You may also wish to contact the school by email: office@sm.thedcet.com

Due to the nature of their role, it is usually difficult for teaching staff to take telephone calls during the day. If you need to speak to you child’s teacher, please either catch them at drop-off or pick-up or call the office to make an appointment. You can also email them on their work or the school email address. Please be mindful that teachers will only respond to this between 8am and 4.30pm.
