Introduction letter from the Head Teacher

Midday Supervisory Assistant

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic individuals to join our lunch time staff to supervise pupils both in the lunch hall and on the playground.

 

We would welcome applicants who are:

  • Willing to work well as part of a dedicated team of both MDSA's and Teaching assistants to support lunch time play as well as undertaking supervisory activities. These activities could include:
  • Leading children’s games
  • Encouraging children to include each other in play
  • Helping children to resolve disagreements independently
  • Addressing incidents of poor behaviour choices
  • Able to carry out a variety of supervisory duties that will include:
  • Setting up / clearing away the lunch hall.
  • Clear spillages and cleaning the floor.
  • Helping children with their lunches e.g cutting food
  • Encouraging children to eat their lunches
  • Minor first aid incidents
  • Other tasks as specified by the school’s leadership team or senior MDSA
  • Familiar with the need to safeguard children and understand its importance.
  • Willing to support the Catholic ethos of the school.

Hours of work:  1 hour 15 minutes / day – Monday to Friday (Term time only - 38 weeks / year)

12:00 – 13:15 or 11:45 – 13:00 (to be agreed at interview)

Contract type:  Fixed term for 1 year pending a staffing review.

 

Closing date (and time):  12 noon Friday 17th January 2020

 

Interview date:  Wednesday 22nd January (PM) or Thursday 23rd January (PM)

 

Commencement date: As soon as possible, following completion of satisfactory safeguarding checks.

After School Club Assistant

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individuals to join our after school staff to supervise provision in our after school club.

 

We would welcome applicants who are:

  • Willing to work well as part of a dedicated team to support after school play and learning as well as undertaking supervisory activities. These activities could include:
  • Leading children’s games and craft activities
  • Encouraging children to include each other in play
  • Helping children to resolve disagreements independently
  • Addressing incidents of poor behaviour choices
  • Supporting children in completing home learning activities
  • Able and willing to assist with the preparation and serving of snacks and light meals.
  • Able to carry out a variety of supervisory duties that could include:
  • Setting up / clearing away the after school club equipment
  • Minor first aid incidents
  • Other tasks as specified by the school’s leadership team or the after school club leader
  • Familiar with the need to safeguard children and understand its importance.
  • Willing to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
